At Fairways Accommodation Support Trust, every room we offer is more than a place to stay—it’s a second chance. For many of our residents, homelessness is just the surface of a deeper struggle that includes addiction, trauma, unemployment, or a criminal past. What transforms their lives is not just a roof over their heads, but the consistent support, care, and belief that they can rebuild their futures.
One of our residents, John (name changed), came to Fairways after serving a short sentence and spending several months sleeping rough. He was isolated, without family support, and battling addiction. At first, he struggled to trust anyone. But through regular house meetings, structured routines, and ongoing guidance from our support team, John began to open up. We connected him with an addiction recovery program, supported him through his job search, and helped him reunite with his family. Today, John is working part-time and mentoring other residents who are new to the system.

Another story is Amira’s. A domestic abuse survivor who fled her home with nothing, she was referred to Fairways by a women’s shelter. Her confidence was shattered, and she had no stable income. With emotional support and training opportunities provided through our partnerships, Amira was able to access therapy, attend short courses, and eventually secure admin work with a local charity. She now has long-term housing and is building a future for herself.
These stories are only two of many. They represent the heart of our mission: to turn crisis into confidence and homelessness into hope.
